Account Manager Job Description: 
The Account Manager will be primarily responsible for the ongoing management of commercial clients, retention of new and renewal clients, and maintaining a partnership with the producer/agent to support clients and insurance carrier relationships.  Account managers are responsible for managing the relationship between insurance company and the client. They work with a variety of individuals and businesses to help clients find the right coverage for the best price. 
 
Commercial Lines Account Manager Job Duties: 
  • Advise clients on any coverage, billing, and claims questions as it pertains to their insurance program 
  • Prepare, complete, and submit applications to insurance carriers; develop proposals and provide technical support in coordination with Producer(s)/Agent(s) 
  • Responsible for follow-up with carriers and clients on various insurance program needs 
  • Review policies, endorsements and all documentation for accuracy and quality standards 
  • Assist clients with coverage changes, certificate requests, binders, and endorsements  
  • Responsible for existing client account review and renewal process including client contacts, remarketing, proposals, and any correspondence. 
  • Actively seek referrals from current clients and utilizes Applied Epic System to generate new business or cross sell new lines of coverage. 
  • Manage non-renewals and cancellation requests to retain business where appropriate 
  • Update policy changes on clients’ accounts in our system and advise insurance companies of these changes. 
  • Consult with clients to help process quotes and issue renewals or any updates needed to current policies 
  • Gather all documentation needed from the client for reporting a claim to the insurance company 
  • Meet regularly with agents and staff to keep up with industry standards, insurance products/coverages, and carrier changes. 
  • Work closely with insurance company underwriters, sales representatives, and account executives. 
  • Pre-qualify and analyzes prospective business clients according to agency standards. 
  • Negotiate with insurance carriers to obtain competitive rates for clients 
Commercial Lines Insurance Account Manager Qualifications: 
  • Active Property and Casualty insurance license in Texas or willing to get licensed in 90 days 
  • Strong customer service focus with a professional attitude and approach to business 
  • Must have very strong follow up, written/verbal communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills  
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced team environment  
  • Insurance experience as an account manager or insurance agent is preferred but will provide training as needed  
  • Experience in a sales or service organization preferred.  
  • Knowledge of Applied Epic system is recommended but will provide training as needed 
  • Candidates should have basic computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel PowerPoint, etc.) 
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree recommended or insurance industry experience 
  • High School diploma required.

Flexible work from home options available.

Compensation: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
